Joe and Jess Thwaite came forward to claim the €215.8Million EuroMillions jackpot of May 10, 2022. This is not only the second largest EuroMillions prize ever scooped, but it is also the largest lottery prize scooped in UK.
The winners chose to not remain anonymous as they did not want to lie or ask their friends & family to “keep the secret” and thought it would be easier this way.
Joe and Jess have been married for 11 years and they have two lovely young kids together. Joe is a communication sales engineer while Jess runs a hairdressing salon. They declared that they want to use their money to help the people that gave them a helping hand in the past and to take care of themselves. Times have been though: their house needs renovations and so does the salon. They also hope to buy a new car and to be able to travel.Their dreams can now take shape!
At first they both couldn’t believe their luck. Joe even said that usually he isn’t very lucky and that this is why he lets his wife pick the lottery tickets. They were usually choosing random numbers with the Quick Pick option and had been doing so for seven years since Jess’ father passed away. He was a lottery player that always dreamt of, one day, winning the lottery. This win would have brightened his heart we are convinced!
Joe thought that they had scooped 215.8 thousands instead of 215.8Million euro while Jess simply did not believe it. It was then confirmed that they were indeed the lucky winners of €215.8Million!
